Information: Louise Loe BA, PHD.

Louise Loe joined OA in April 2006 having previously worked as a lecturer in biological anthropology at Bournemouth University. Louise has a first degree in Archaeology from the University of Bristol and has worked in osteoarchaeology since 1995. She has considerable experience in all aspects of osteology from excavation to post-excavation analysis, reportage and publication. Louise was awarded a PhD in Biological Anthropology from the University of Bristol in 2003. Her PhD research examined health and socio-economic status in early medieval Wales, which involved the primary documentation and analysis of around 800 4th to 12th century skeletons from Llandough, South Glamorgan. Louise�s main interests are peri- and post- mortem modification of human skeletal remains, forensic anthropology, palaeopathology, funerary practices in the Bronze Age and early medieval period, international burial policy and standards of practice. Louise currently leads Heritage Burial Services in all burial related projects and provides consultancy, strategic project management, as well as financial and resource management.
