. Rebecca holds a BA (hons) in Archaeology and History from the University of York, M.A. in Environmental Archaeology and Palaeoeconomy (University of Sheffield) and a D.Phil in bone taphonomy (Department of Biology, University of York). Her publications include several edited books, journal papers and over 50 specialist reports.

She is a member of the Institute of Field Archaeologists (MIFA) and of the Association for Environmental Archaeology and Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland (FSA Scot.)

. Rebecca joined OA in 2005, as environmental manager, working with an experienced and enthusiastic team. She is an environmental archaeologist and archaeozoologist with almost twenty years archaeological experience within archaeological field units as environmental co-ordinator (North-East England Field Unit and in South America) and as a university researcher (Environmental Archaeology Unit, York and University of Bradford).

Prior to joining OA she spent a number of years as environmental co-ordinator and archaeo-ichthyologist for excavations at Old Scatness and West Voe, in Shetland, and has also worked freelance. Her specialism is the study of ancient fishing and fowling, largely through the analysis of bone assemblages from sites in England and Scotland. In her spare time she continues to work on projects in Orkney and Shetland.
